I promised a proper update but I don't think I can manage a full one because I'm not feeling so great. I apologise in advance for the disjointed nature of this post but if I don't just get on and do it, it's never going to get done.
I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed more than a week ago and it totally knocked me on my ass. It was a very difficult and painful extraction and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be healing well. It's definitely noticeably better than it was earlier in the week but I'm still in constant throbbing pain. Plus, one of the dissolvable stitches has come loose and is flapping around my mouth, which is about to make me lose my mind. I'm planning to go and get it checked at the Dental Hospital tomorrow because it just doesn't feel quite right.
What else is happening? Well, I'm going to Australia in less than 2 weeks because my brother is getting married out there (he lives in Manley, just across the bay from Sydney with his Australian girlfriend). I've never been before so I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be there for about 3 weeks and will mostly be in the Sydney, Kiama and Blue Mountain areas if anyone is around that area and wants to meet up for tea and cake.
In less agreeable news, the Kidlet has been off school since before Christmas with a mystery problem that turned out to be a weird variant of migraine, he's on medication now and seems a lot better but it's been a worrying month or so. We're hoping to get him back to school after half term.
After a break of about a month to recover from The Diary Project (which I finally finished updating this week), I've started drawing again. I'm currently working on a series of drawings similar in style to the Diary Project ones but on better paper. The idea is that I'll try selling them because hey, I need to fund my extravagant Australia-visiting lifestyle. I'm also about to start a new series of 'un-drawings' done with graphite powder but there's nothing concrete to say about those yet because so far all I've done is buy the powdered graphite. It's going to involve lots of rubbing and wearing a dust mask.
Other than that, I've mostly been knitting - it's been helping me stay sane while I stress about the Kidlet. I'm sure there's been tons of other stuff happening but right now my brain is full of cotton wool and I can't think straight.
So there you go - kid ill, mouth hurty, brain stoopid, going hot place with nice beaches and dangerous wildlife. I go bed now...
